PLAINSBORO >> After a nice five-year run, the West Windsor North softball team has slipped way back in the Colonial Valley Conference pecking order over the last two seasons.
While the Knights do not appear ready to start beating the better teams with any sort of consistency, some young talent is reemerging in the program and things are looking up.
“We were hoping to have one more come out for the team, but we do have a pretty good freshmen class,’’ said coach Jason “Princeton’s Greatest Athlete’’ Petrone.
The pitching will be handled by junior Gilian Adair and freshman McKenna Carpenter. They will be backed by a veteran infield that had plenty of playing time last year, meaning the Knights should be an improved defense team.
